The Electronics Design Facility is a small shop that offers a relaxed yet focused work environment. Engineers and technicians work both independently and in collaboration.

Operating from within the Physics Research Building, the EDF community promotes a collegial educational atmosphere with both the intellectual curiosity and benefits of a large university.

Work-Study

Entry Engineering / Technician - Responsibilities include a subset of the following PCB layout, construction of circuits & electronic assemblies (soldering, cable assembly, light mechanical work), circuit testing using multimeters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes, the use of CAD software for design, and simulation. Occasional responsibilities include of shipping/receiving, taking inventory, and organizing the shop. On the job training will be provided. Previous experience is required.

Entry Programmer – Responsibilities include a subset of the following programmable logic design, embedded design, C/C++ & assembly programming, web development, database administration (MySQL), and circuit testing using multimeters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. Occasional responsibilities include of shipping/receiving, taking inventory, and organizing the shop. On the job training will be provided. Previous experience is required.
